A super PAC with ties to Bitcoin is spending big money to help a Hawaii Democratic congressional candidate. State Rep. Patrick Branco is trailing in the polls in the race to represent Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District. The congressional seat covers rural Oahu and the neighbor islands, and hasn’t gotten a lot of attention until now. The primary election is Aug. 13 and voters will receive their mail in ballots by July 26 and the primary election will take place next week. Tokuda is a former state senator and ran unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor, losing to Josh Green by almost 3 points to Green in the Hawaii lieutenant governor's race in 2012.
