Chamath Palihapitiya says Bitcoin should be governed like security even if it isn't actually a security. The billionaire investor has hundreds of millions of dollars invested in bitcoin. He said that while decentralized finance and cryptocurrencies are a part of the next stage of the progression to what is known as Web 3.0, Google and Facebook controlled the first two versions of the internet by organizing, or producing, everything that is currently present on it. The millionaire made the comments in an interview with CNBC’s Scott Wapner on Wednesday. He asserted that decentralized finance is the next step in the evolution of the Web 3-0, and that it would be difficult to simply prohibit cryptocurrencies.
