Bitcoin mine settlement: Two communities anxious for details

Mining1 min read

Washington County and BrightRidge leaders approved a settlement in the county’s suit over a Bitcoin mine in rural Limestone more than two weeks ago. A new Bitcoin mine is set to be built in a yet-undisclosed five-acre location in the industrial park. The settlement includes the provision of free broadband for at least a year and for as long as the mine keeps operating. County attorney says final paperwork to shut down the mine in Limestone isn’t yet complete. A lawsuit is still set for July 11-13 but the parties plan to request a continuance if the settlement hasn't been finalized by a judge before the July 11, 13 meeting is set for the July meeting of the county commissioners in Jonesboro, Tennessee.
