Bitcoin Core is the primary implementation of the Bitcoin software that connects to the blockchain. A small group with commit access can directly access Bitcoin Core’s code in order to merge new code changes. Wuille has made thousands of contributions to Bitcoin Core since 2011, most notably introducing seed phrases for storing and recovering private keys more easily. He made the request to remove his key from the set of trusted keys through the Bitcoin GitHub on Thursday. With his departure, only four developers remain with commits access: Wladimir J. van der Laan, Marco Falke, Michael Ford and Hennadii Stepanov. The move leaves Wuille's key in the set-trusted keys of Bitcoin Core's trusted keys on Thursday, according to the GitHub. Source
